Terms of Service
These are the terms under which Clipped is provided. We've written them in plain language. Short version: the app is free, private, and we're not liable if something goes wrong.
TL;DR
Free app, no account, offline only. Exported videos include a watermark — remove it with a one-time purchase. You must own the rights to any video you clip. Don't use it for illegal things.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Clipped ("the App") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. Use of the App is entirely voluntary.
2. Description of Service
Clipped is an iOS application that allows you to clip and export videos on your device using on-device AI. The AI features are powered by Qwen 2.5 and Qwen 3.5 — open-source models (Apache 2.0) downloaded to and executed entirely on your device. The App operates entirely offline and requires no user account. The core functionality is free. An optional one-time in-app purchase removes the watermark applied to exported videos (see Section 4). You may delete the downloaded AI models at any time from within the App.
3. No Account Required
Clipped does not require you to create an account. All data you create in the App is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party by the App.
4. Watermark & One-Time Purchase
By default, videos exported from Clipped include a small "Clipped" watermark. You may remove the watermark permanently via a one-time in-app purchase processed through Apple's App Store. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in to that Apple ID via the "Restore Purchases" option in the App. The watermark removal is a permanent licence — there is no subscription. We do not offer refunds outside of Apple's own refund policy.
5. User Content & Copyright
By using Clipped to clip, edit, or export a video you represent and warrant that: (a) you own the video or hold all necessary rights, licences, and permissions to clip and export it; (b) your use of the video does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party; and (c) you comply with all applicable laws, including copyright law and platform terms of service of any source from which the video originates. We have no visibility into the content you process. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to use every video you import into the App. We disclaim all liability arising from your use of content to which you do not hold the appropriate rights.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the App to: (a) clip or export content that infringes third-party copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual property; (b) process content that is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful in your jurisdiction; (c) circumvent or attempt to circumvent DRM or copy-protection measures on any video; (d) use the App for commercial redistribution of clipped content without holding the appropriate rights; or (e) reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the App.
7. Intellectual Property — App
The App and its original code, design, and branding are owned by Salvatore Castellitti. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App except where expressly permitted by applicable law.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We make no guarantees that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted. AI-powered features are probabilistic and may produce inaccurate results.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Salvatore Castellitti shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including loss of data, revenue, or profits) arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the watermark-removal purchase, if any.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Salvatore Castellitti from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your infringement of any third-party rights, including copyright or privacy rights.
11. Data & Privacy
All data is stored on your device. Please read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be noted in the App or on this page.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.
